GraphQL API: from hype to production

Increasingly used by web giants like Facebook, GitHub, Pinterest and Shopify, GraphQL piqued my curiosity, even to the point of using it in production. However, a GraphQL API involves many challenges such as designing an understandable and scalable schema, securing requests, setting up the cache and monitoring a single endpoint. In building this API over the past two years, we have developed a set of tools and good practices. Based on concrete examples of the Cap Collectif API, we will discuss why we chose GraphQL, how we are attempting to solve these challenges and even, sometimes, how we can benefit from them!
